Paladin Media Group is central Virginia’s premiere production company. We create beautifully powerful video for clients scattered from Charlottesville to San Francisco, from New Mexico to Minnesota. You may have an idea bouncing around in your head, or perhaps only half of an idea scratched out on a napkin. Paladin Media Group will bring those ideas to life. We give them legs, we prop them up, we wrap those ideas in video, and we help them fly. That's what we do, day after day, client after satisfied client.

Paladin Media Group is not a giant corporation, but we do great work for some giant companies. We are a modest, local, family-owned business and we call beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia our home. Paladin was founded in 1991 so we're not newcomers to the video world. We've survived several company moves, many video format and industry changes, as well as a little speed bump known as the Great Recession. We at Paladin are positioned today to help you and your business solve problems through video. We look forward to earning your trust.

In addition to our creative video production services we also have a motion picture and documentary unit called Paladin Pictures.  We are also a strategic partner with the Community Films Foundation (501c3), with whom we work to help filmmakers and mission/humanitarian organizations better tell their stories!

BACKSTORY

In the 8th century, King Charlemagne created the Paladin Knighthood, warriors of sterling character who pledged to uphold the virtues of their culture.

Today, we at the Paladin Media Group strive to accomplish a similar goal, whether creating corporate video, television and radio broadcasts or feature motion pictures we strive for the utmost in excellence and integrity.

We are Paladin Media Group.

MISSION

Paladin Media Group is committed to the creation, production, distribution, and promotion of redemptive entertainment and educational media.

DEFINITION

paladin \PAL-uh-din\, noun:

1.  A knight-errant; a distinguished champion of a medieval king or prince; as, the paladins of Charlemagne.

2.  A champion of a cause.

Paladin derives from Late Latin palatinus, "an officer of the palace," from Latin palatium, "royal residence, palace," from Palatium, one of the seven hills of Rome, on which Augustus had his residence.

Press Releases

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – February 2, 2011 - Filmmaker and President of Paladin Pictures, Inc., Kent C. Williamson, recently launched a tribe-funding opportunity to help raise needed production funds for the lacrosse film UN1TY. “We have traditional investors on this project, but we wanted to reach out to the community around us to help make this lacrosse film,” Williamson said. “By bringing people together to help fund the project through KickStarter, we not only get access to the production money we need, but people get excited about the project in the process.”

The screenplay for UN1TY  has been described as The Blind Side meets Facing The Giants on the Lacrosse Field. Williamson hopes to have complete funding in place including both the crowd-sourcing funds and traditional investments   by May. If so, production on the film could begin as early as this summer.

Williamson and his team are trying to raise the additional $70,000 for production of the film via the UN1TY KickStarter project. Tribe-funding or crowdsourcing of artistic projects is built around giving incentives to those who help launch the project and the film UN1TY is no different. Incentives include getting your name in the film’s credits, pre-release copies of the film, digital download packages, autographed screenplays, spending a day on the set, shaving the director’s head, and many more. UN1TY Co-Producer Leslie Wood helped choose the crowd-sourcing website Kickstarter.com to host the project. “What I like about KickStarter is that it’s all or nothing. We raise the complete seventy thousand or we don’t get a dime. That really protects the people that are trying to help us. They know that their credit cards will not be charged if we don’t reach our goal,” Wood added. The minimum pledge on the UN1TY Kickstarter page is $1. A low enough entry point that nearly anyone can help make this film a reality.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - May 21, 2010 - Fellowship of Christian Athletes has endorsed the soon to be produced lacrosse film, UN1TY. Charlottesville-based Paladin Pictures has received the formal endorsement from National Director of FCA Lacrosse, Ryan Horanburg. “When I first heard the title of this new movie...and read the screenplay I couldn’t help but smile,” said Hornaburg. Kent C. Williamson, President of Paladin Pictures stated, “I am thrilled about the relationship between FCA and UN1TY. The collaboration will help give the film visibility across the country and will help us reach our target audience.”

UN1TY is set to become the world’s first faith-based motion picture set in the fast-paced world of lacrosse. Paladin intends to shoot the majority of the film in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Financing for the picture is still being secured and Paladin has partnered with the non-profit organization, Community Films Foundation to help fund the project.

Established in 1954, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has become the largest Christian sports organization in America. This non-profit, interdenominational ministry in the last year has reached more than 350,000 people on over 7,100 campuses and has worked with more than 46,000 coaches and athletes at camps across the globe.

Paladin encourages people to make their tax-deductible donation toward the project UN1TY at the Community Films Foundation website: www.CommunityFilmsFoundation.org. For more information on UN1TY or to read the FCA endorsement letter, please click to www.UN1TYlacrosseMOVIE.com.
