Brothers Williamson To Host No-Budget Filmmaking Seminar

Charlottesville, Virginia – April 18, 2005 – Film Directors Brad and Kent C. Williamson, known as The Brothers Williamson, have joined with Paladin Pictures for a Secrets of No-Budget Filmmaking seminar to be held during the Bare Bone International Independent Film Festival on Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Muskogee Civic Center Cinema, “Venue C.” The Brothers Williamson directed the film When Love Walks In, chosen to lead the festival weekend as the first feature motion picture to show following the official welcome event on Thursday, April 21st at 8:00 p.m. at the Roxy Theatre. The film will receive a second screening on Saturday, April 23rd at 10:15 p.m. at the Civic Center Cinema “Venue C.”

The Secrets of No-Budget Filmmaking seminar will focus on tips and techniques used by The Brothers Williamson throughout the making of the motion picture When Love Walks In. An extensive list of “do’s and don’ts” will be offered for every stage of the filmmaking process, from planning to post-production, as the directors highlight actual examples in select scenes from the film When Love Walks In. Brad Williamson says, “No-budget filmmaking—what a challenge. A lot of the fun is playing ‘MacGyver’—figuring out how to get a shot when you don’t have the equipment or you don’t have the tools. Quite an adventure. You really got to try it!”

The Brothers Williamson have proven their ability to produce quality films despite budget limitations. Working with few financial resources, almost every aspect of production on When Love Walks In was done pro bono as each actor, crewmember, editor, and even caterer donated his time and talents. The directors gathered an impressive list of musicians for the film’s soundtrack, as well, including artists such as Carbon Leaf and Virginia-based singer/songwriter Terri Allard. As a result, When Love Walks In has been recognized as a notable independent film, nominated for five awards at the Bare Bones Festival including Best 1st Feature FilmBest ActorBest ActressBest Youth Actress, and Best Ensemble Cast.

When Love Walks In tells the story of John Redgrave, a photographer who struggles to raise his three-year-old daughter after his wife’s untimely death.  Emotionally devastated, he attempts to pick-up the pieces of his shattered life with the help of his charming father and an unlikely new love interest. Elements of loss, love, and eventual restoration have pre-release audiences calling the film “a believable, tender love story” that is “touching and real.”  To purchase tickets to the BBIIFF movie screenings and Secrets of No-Budget Filmmaking seminar, visit To view the trailer of When Love Walks or to purchase a copy, visit
