Paladin Pictures Film Receives Five Festival Award Nominations

Charlottesville, Virginia – March 11, 2005 - Charlottesville-based media company Paladin Pictures and The Brothers Williamson are being recognized for their work on the dramatic film When Love Walks In at the Bare Bones International Independent Film Festival (BBIIFF) April 18-24. The feature-length film has been nominated for five festival awards including Best 1st Feature, Best Actor, Best Female Actor, Best Youth Actor, and Best Ensemble Cast. When Love Walks In is one of twenty-five feature films accepted in the festival’s narrative category and is the first of only two full-length films that will receive multiple screenings.

Filmed entirely in Albemarle and Buckingham counties, When Love Walks In tells the story of John Redgrave, a photographer who struggles to raise his three-year-old daughter after his wife’s untimely death. Emotionally devastated, he attempts to pick-up the pieces of his shattered life with the help of his charming father and an unlikely new love interest. Elements of loss, love, and eventual restoration have pre-release audiences comparing When Love Walks In to films like Bounce starring Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow and Sleepless in Seattle starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

The award nominations are perhaps best described as delayed gratification for the cast and crew of When Love Walks In. Originally filmed in 1998, the project has been shaped and remolded for nearly a decade before finding its current final form, and with each actor donating his or her time and talents to the effort, the festival nominations are especially appreciated. Terri Moore, who plays Nora Machiavelli and was nominated for Best Female Actor says, “I am thrilled beyond belief at receiving a nomination for my fledgling work on a film. I’m flying pretty high right now, and thrilled for everybody involved with W.L.W.I.”

The cast of When Love Walks In has continued to experience success in their individual careers. Lead actor Kent C. Williamson has found work in projects such as Mickey, the John Grisham film with Hugh Wilson and Harry Connick, Jr., as well as in television shows such as Legacy on UPN. Melissa Dawn Bryant, who plays the wife of John Redgrave in When Love Walks In, has since made appearances on soap operas As The World Turns and One Life to Live, in addition to acting in numerous national commercials and theatrical performances.

When Love Walks In will be shown on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the festival’s “Venue A” screening location and on Saturday, April 23rd at 10:15 p.m. in “Venue C.” The festival awards presentation is scheduled for 3:00 on Sunday, April 24th.
